Sorry for the belated pod this week, squad. Jeff was the worst chaperone ever and let Sundi and Brooke's Sunday Funday get out of hand. Trigger warning for this week: we talk a lot about the verbal and emotional abuse Jax receives at the hands of a absolutely diabolical person that claims to love him and there is some cancer-talk throughout.

The dummies are abusing us here at the Pinot Pod this week. Kristen and Sandoval, which will be known as Krandoval from now on, made it so, very awkward  the whole time and we just want them to break up already Jassi inch closer to reconciliation, despite Dayna-with-a-Y's best efforts, and there was even a kiss. 
Sandoval had a big gig but Peter and Scheana gave off "real worker alerts" for the whole episode. We continue to hope Peter grows his career as a wine expert or a movie producer or hell... even a waitress chaser because it's clear he won't be a reality TV star.
Jeff does a deep dive on a very 80s band (current references only) and Brooke nails the recipe for an Italian margarita. We're a podcast of many talents.

In this unprecedented installment of "because the present" the Pinot Squad takes a look at the Vanderpump Rules  Season 12: New Shift trailer and we were ... underwhelmed. 
 
We used the guide from the Bravo website to chat a little bit about each new cast member and compared them to the old cast. We had several "new Scheanas" but not one "new Stassi." Jeff wouldn't allow it.

As the new season dawns, Katie has new hair, Jax is looking fine (and Sundi is appropriately shamed for her opinions on the matter) and Brooke brags about the series of very healthy and fulfilling relationships she's had over the course of her life. (That is probably why she is the nicest of the bunch).

That's a wrap on season 1 of Vanderpump Rules. Sundi, Jeff and Brooke are joined by friend-of-the-pod, Nolin to go over some of the juiciest, never-before-seen moments of the first 9 episodes. Nolin's son, (and Sundi's favorite [grand]child), Shep, drops in for a special cameo (and also provides a fair bit of background harmony.) 
Warning: This was a  chaotic one, so bear with us (that's what we get for recording on a school night). We DID get to discuss the boot-and-rally of our youths, "thirsty daddies" and whatever a "crymax" is.

Things got a little hectic toward the end, so if you hear a toddler crying, a kitten meowing or a grown dog choking on the remains of a destroyed toy.... no you didn't.

Pumptini Recipe
Watch Nolin double shake us up a round on Instagram, and then tag us in your Pumptini experience. 
Ingredients 
3-4 raspberries (one for garnish)
¾ oz simple syrup
2 oz vodka
¾ oz orange liqueur (Cointreau or Pavan work well)
¾ oz grapefruit juice, fresh-squeezed
¾ oz lime juice, fresh-squeezed
Ice
Sugar for rimming the glass (optional) 
Instructions
Chill the glass: Place a martini glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes, or fill it with ice and water while you prepare the drink.
Rim the glass: If desired, take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of the chilled glass, then dip the rim in a shallow dish of sugar.
Muddle: In a cocktail shaker, add the raspberries and simple syrup. Muddle them together thoroughly to release the fruit's flavor.
Add liquids and ice: Pour in the vodka, orange liqueur, grapefruit juice, and lime juice. Fill the shaker with ice.
Shake: Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold.
Strain and garnish: Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass (a double strain can remove seeds if desired). Garnish with an extra raspberry or a grapefruit twist. 

We played casting director for the day and shared our picks for the fictional Vanderpump Rules: The Movie. As expected, Brooke won the day with some very inspired choices and we had to stop and Google a few of Jeff's choices. I think we got it just right.
